I strongly believe weight is not the best metric used to track your progress, and I am a HAES-based (Health at Every Size) provider. This means I don’t use weight as a measure of health. Instead, I love exploring how someone feels, how their energy levels have changed, and how confident and comfortable they feel around food. Other than that, because I am clinically trained, I may look at different labs or blood work ordered by us or your doctor to see how things are going. However, at the end of the day, how we track your progress toward your goals is totally in your hands, and we want to honor what makes you feel comfortable.
The only times weight may be discussed is if there is a need for restoration of lost or suppressed weight and not addressing this is contributing to malnutrition or exacerbation of symptoms.

While I can absolutely help you develop a healthy nutrition and lifestyle pattern overall (ie movement, sleep, stress, metabolic health, etc), I don't specifically offer weight loss-focused services. Anything that we do with the above may or may not result in weight loss, but it's not something that I specifically promote or focus on with clients as my services take a non-weight based or weight neutral approach (and because everyone's genetics are different!).

Officially from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (aka Registered Dietitian, RD, or RDN) is an expert in food and nutrition who has met the following academic and professional requirements:
Earned a Bachelor's degree with course work approved by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics' Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics. Coursework includes: food and nutrition sciences, business, sociology, biochemistry, physiology, microbiology, and chemistry.
Completed an accredited, extensive supervised practice program with direct patient contact at a health care facility, community agency, or food service corporation (depending on the dietitian's interest and career goals).
Passed a rigorous national registration examination administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
Completes continuing professional education requirements to maintain registration on an ongoing basis.
There is no difference between a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and a Registered Dietitian. However, there is a difference between a Dietitian and Nutritionist.
While the title "Registered Dietitian" or "Registered Dietitian Nutritionist" is heavily regulated, there is very little regulation on using the term "nutritionist," "nutrition expert," "nutrition coach," "health coach," "wellness coach," and so on without any education or professional development requirements. While some states allow for the "certified or licensed nutritionist" title, only Registered Dietitians are allowed to practice medical nutrition therapy for acute and chronic diseases.
While many nutritionists are very knowledgeable, experienced, and capable, RDs and RDNs have met the most rigorous requirements and are the established experts in food and nutrition.
Every Registered Dietitian is a Nutritionist, but not every Nutritionist is a Registered Dietitian.

We're not a good fit if:
- You’re looking for me to calculate your calories or macros and set strict parameters for you to follow.
- You want a detailed, day-to-day meal and exercise plan that tells you exactly what to do.
- Your primary focus is weight loss, and you’re not ready to explore behaviors that support your overall health, even if the scale doesn’t change.
- You’re hoping for a quick fix or magic solution (I get it—who wouldn’t? But that’s not what I offer!).
